*All the applications of our systems have shown excellent results. They proved economically profitable and environmentally friendly. Our equipment was reliable and stable during the whole period of operation*
Since 2018, the enterprise has been using the MiPS-PFD Plasma Filter Destructor to purify the coke gas from the hydrogen sulphide and tar substances contained within and to convert the raw gas into an ecologically clean fuel in the most economical way possible.
The application of the MiPRS system for flue gas treatment significantly reduced the concentration of dust and sulphur dioxide in the plant’s emissions.
Combustible gases passing through the plasma filter-destructor are subjected to intensive thermo-catalytic treatment.
As a result of plasma action, the concentration of hydrogen sulphide and resinous substances in the coke gas is greatly diminished. The concentration of hydrogen sulphide decreases by 96-97%, and the tars are almost completely absent.
The hot coke gas at the outlet from the coke pyrolysis furnace through the transporting pipes is fed for processing and disposal in energy boilers. Before the gas is used, it is processed in the MiPRS . Following that, the treated gas is ionized at high energy concentrations. The energy released into the plasma is used to maintain its temperature, dissociate molecular gases, ionize atoms, and heat up the cold gas.
Afterwards, the sulphur compounds are dissociated to form hydrogen and solid commercial sulphur, which are amassed on water-cooled sulphur collectors.
Plasmochemical conversion of hydrogen sulphide is waste-free and environmentally friendly and gives both products - sulphur and hydrogen with low energy consumption. Where the dissociation energy of hydrogen sulphide into hydrogen and sulfur is H=0.21 eV per molecule.
During the gas treatment with the MiPRS, cracking of the tars into lighter hydrocarbon products takes place, because of the thermal disruption of the bonds in the chemical compounds. Tars are one of the major shortcomings of gasification processes because they tend to condense at low temperature. This results in pollution and corrosion of gas pipelines and a reduced life of equipment.

Likewise, condensation of residues from the gas reduces the energy value of the gas and results in environmental pollution.
Plasma is used as a to purify gas by cracking long-chain molecules, resulting in a clean gas with a low tars content suitable for fuel.
Indeed, plasma cracking has significantly reduced the energy consumption for the decomposition of the tar-based substances and avoided additional operating costs. Cracking of the tar and dissociation of the sulphur compounds increase the energy value of the gas by converting the energy components to the gas state and increasing the concentration of hydrogen.
The modernization of the gas treatment and cleaning systems in industrial plants does not require substantial work. The MiPRS system is installed in existing pipelines without compromising the equipment’s modes of operation.
Installation of the Microwave Plasma Refining System MiPRS UkrPlasma made it possible to achieve:
In summary, the use of the MiPRS system in the production line of coking plants improves the ecological condition of the environment and reduces the emissions of dust and sulphur compounds to the atmosphere. Moreover, it increases the life of technological equipment and makes it possible to extract commercial solid sulphur from the coke gas.
